About Tender Spirits Childcare
About The Educator
Monica holds her Early Childhood Educator Certificate, Special Needs and Inclusive Practice Certificate and her Infant Toddlers Certificate. She is also the mother of two teenage children and has been providing daycare in her family home since 2007.
As a Professional Family Child Care Provider, she is committed to providing high quality care in a loving nurturing home environment. She believes that a small home-based facility can offer children many opportunities to learn and grow with siblings and other children in a mixed age group. She also believes that smaller home-based facilities can offer a higher degree of individual care because of a smaller group size to educator ratio (with only 8 children or less enrolled). This smaller ratio allows for greater observations of play, inquiry and wondering of children, which in turn allow for greater individualized curriculum. This means children get to grow at their own pace which make learning a comfortable and exciting experience for them and allows them to grow and learn at their own rate. Play, safety, positive strong relationships and connections, as well as close observation to facilitate deep purposeful play are all key concepts in her childcare philosophy.
